My journey with dogs began in a place of personal hardship, but through their unconditional love and companionship, I found my purpose. Caring for rescue and non rescue dogs has not only brought immense joy to my life but has also allowed me to give back to these incredible animals. Each dog I care for holds a special place in my heart, and their wellbeing is my top priority. This is my brief story of resilience, love, and dedication to the dogs that have saved my life.
I was a PA 👩🏫 for 16 years'. 6 of those years working for Social Services & NHS (Medical Secretary etc) & 10 of those in the education sector however, after doing many hours/days/months working at the CuppaPug Cafe as a Dog Carer 🐕 & doing almost 100 dog jobs (drop ins, day sits & overnight stays ☀️🌑) on Rover (getting 5 🌟 reviews & achieving Star Sitter status) I realised that this business 👩💼 is my calling which is why I launched full time care January 2024. We only live one life & I want my one life to be meaningful & full of purpose.
Towards the end of 2023, I said no to burnout, excessive stress, ridiculous demands, neglecting myself as a result with early 5/5.30am wake ups (poor sleep), poor eating habits and other negative aspects that were draining me both mentally and physically. I finally said yes to being my own boss. I created a business where I could give back to others and their beloved pets. Another living soul to care for, cherish and love. I said yes to slobbery kisses, happy wagging tails, sharing a bed with a furry companion, detail orientated dog care, sometimes very long nights (a big thank you to all of the foxes), early mornings and unlimited love.
After a successful soft launch August – December 2023, I took the leap and quit my full-time job (I was an employee for 16 years!) to prioritise your precious animals, full time. During my time, I have become one of the ‘go to people’ for rescue dogs, which was not planned but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Because of what I have been through in my own life, I have been able to care for these dogs with ease. Regardless, rescue dog or not, I make it my mission to ensure your dog lives their best life with me.
The love and gratitude I have received from dog parents surpasses anything I've experienced in any other job. Words cannot fully express how thankful I am or how much my dog family means to me. There was a time when I was in a very dark place; decades of personal trauma had taken over my life, and I could not see a way out. I struggled to exist and survive. When I say that dogs have saved my life, I truly mean it, and I am wholeheartedly committed to dedicating my entire life to your pets.
